FABRIC
In these photographs on fabric, borders and the breaking of borders are the focus. Whether the border is there for safety or exists as a cultural boundary, we should consider their importance. When is it appropriate to move from one space into another? What happens when the border is crossed?
The Issue with Food
How does what we eat affect our environment and our bodies? These pieces were sewn from scraps of unwanted fabric remnants, including the discarded hem fabric from a local men's suit company. Then, they were wrapped around stretcher bars from second hand stores. The environmental impact was not only called into question by the subject matter, but considered in the making of the art.
